How BeFox judges a message

Rule-based checks
Links are checked against a list of official domains — impersonated names, look-alike characters, shortened URLs, and pages anyone can create on an official service. BeFox also checks mismatched sender and reply-to addresses and the type of phone number.
AI analysis
The message is analyzed with knowledge of specific scam patterns: investment, side-job, impersonation, phishing and more.
Score and reasons
Both results are combined into a score, the reasons behind it, and advice for your situation. Text read from a screenshot can be checked by you before it is judged.

A score is not a verdict

BeFox never declares "this is a scam". It shows the level of risk and gives you what you need to decide.

Always show the reasons

We never show a number on its own. We tell you what looks wrong, in a way you can check yourself.

A conclusion, even when nothing is found

If nothing looks wrong, we say so — and ask you to show us again if something similar happens.

Nothing stored without consent

The text you send is not stored on our servers unless you agree to share it as a case.

Results are estimates made with AI and are provided for reference. BeFox may miss sophisticated scams, and it may rate a legitimate message as high risk. Before any decision about money or personal information, confirm it yourself through the official website or official contact channel.

BeFox gives an estimate, not a guarantee. In Japan, call 110 if you are in danger. If you are worried about losing money, call the police consultation line #9110 or the consumer hotline 188.

Terms of Use (EULA)

Article 1 (Scope)

These terms set out the conditions for using the iPhone app "BeFox" (the "Service") provided by Agentic AI LLC ("we"). By using the Service you agree to these terms. The license to use the App is governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement; these terms supplement it.

Article 2 (Accounts)

The Service can be used anonymously, per device, without registering an account. We do not ask for your name, phone number or email address. Information is handled according to our Privacy Policy.

Article 3 (Nature of results)

Results (scores, reasons and advice) are estimates made with AI and other techniques, provided for reference. They do not guarantee that a message is a scam, or that it is safe.
The Service may miss sophisticated scams and may rate legitimate messages as high risk. Before any decision about money or personal information, confirm it yourself through the official website or contact channel.
In an emergency in Japan call 110; if you are worried about losing money, call #9110 (police consultation) or 188 (consumer hotline).

Article 4 (Free plan and BeFox Pro / auto-renewing subscription)

The free plan allows a set number of checks per day (currently 3). This number may change.
BeFox Pro is a monthly auto-renewing subscription (the price is as shown in the App and on the App Store).
It renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment is charged to your Apple Account.
You can cancel at any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Benefits may change without notice.

Article 5 (Prohibited conduct)

Anything that violates laws or public order and morals
Using the Service for fraud or any other crime, including drafting or testing messages meant to evade detection
Automated mass submissions, excessive load on our servers, or unauthorized access
Improperly analyzing or copying how the Service judges messages
Any other conduct we consider inappropriate

We may restrict use without notice in case of a violation.

Article 6 (Shared cases)

Cases you agree to share may be used by us free of charge, with personal details removed, to improve detection and as reference cases. If you do not agree, nothing is stored.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of the Service. Except in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence, we are not liable for damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the Service, including losses from fraud. We may change, suspend or end the Service without notice.

Article 9 (Changes)

We may change these terms as needed. Changes take effect when posted on this page.

Article 10 (Governing law and jurisdiction)

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The court with jurisdiction over our place of business shall have exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance over any dispute relating to the Service.
